Crochet Terms

sc = single crochet

dc = double crochet

ch = chain

dec = decrease by skipping a stitch or stitching 2 together

inc = increase by crocheting 2 stitches in same stitch from previous row

ea = each

st = stitch

(I've tried to write out many of these directions for clarity.)


SUSAN BATES(R) or MARCIA LYNN (R) Crochet Hook Size J-10 or size to give gauge

Adjustable "Trim-Tool" TM

Knitting Worsted - 4 oz. skeins

2 skeins ea White and Green

3 skeins Red


4 sc and 4 rows = 1"

Approximate Finished Measurement:

46" in Diameter


Work all rows from right side.


With Red ch 39, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next stitch, * decrease 1 stitch, sc in next stitch, (sc, chain 2, sc) in next stitch, sc in next 2 stitches; repeat from *. Tie off.



Row 2:

With White inc in 1st stitch, * sc in ea sc skipping decrease stitch to ch sp, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch space; repeat from *, end inc in last stitch.

Row 3:

With Green inc in 1st stitch, * sc in ea sc to chain space decreasing 1 stitch before skipped stitch, (sc, ch 2, sc) in ch space; repeat from *, end inc in last stitch.

Repeat Rows 2 and 3 for pattern:

Continue in pattern and color sequence until 6 rows are completed.

Work pattern in half-double crochet for 3 rows, then 3 rows double crochet.

Work 2 rows each color in double crochet, then 3 rows each color in double crochet 2 times.

Work 3 rows double crochet with Red and White, then 1 row double crochet with Green and Red.

Work 1 row Red double crochet along sides and opening.

With Trim-Tool (TM) make 4" tassels and attach at each point.
